Aircon Services Achieves BESCA Accreditation

Aircon Services ability to self certify also saves you time and money

Part L of the Building Regulations makes it a legal requirement for you to advise Local Authority Building Control of the any new air-conditioning installations.

Gavin Hastings, Chairman of Aircon Services says, “We have invested in training to become BESCA accredited in order to improve the services and value we offer to clients. Many people don’t seem to be aware that they are breaking the law by non-compliance, but cutting cost in the short term can result in costly fines.”

What are the penalties if you fail to comply?

Failure to comply with the legislation that first came in to force on the 6th of April 2006 can lead to prosecution and fines of up to £5,000 for each contravention. Not only that but a further £50 per day could be levied until the contravention has been rectified or you may even be asked to remove it altogether.

“Accreditation means we can now self certify any new implementation work and make sure our customers avoid costly mistakes. It also allows us to offer a fast and cost effective alternative to the existing process of local authority building control inspection.”

“We pride ourselves on the high levels of customer service we offer to customers and improvements we make to workplace conditions to help increase workforce productivity. This is not about ticks in boxes, but being able to provide our customers with a highly professional service and added value,” says Gavin.

Increased Knowledge and Web Based Registration

In addition, accreditation to the scheme means Aircon Services has access to an expanding knowledge base on the interpretation of Building Regulations and the technical requirements. This means that we can keep pace with latest regulations and provide even higher levels of service and value add to customers.

Using the website enables us to register details of completed work online with automatic notification to local authority building departments. Not only that, but we can also provide details of past work and print uncontrolled sample certificates for our customers, which is now required by law.

“We get great feedback from customers and are recognised for delivering to consistently high and professional standards of work. Achieving this accreditation is yet another step in our ability to provide our customers with an overall comprehensive service that reduces costs, but delivers the right results," concludes Gavin.
